The ‘Fountain Sandstone’ walls carved by South Boulder Creek, of Eldorado Canyon State Park, just 15 min from Downtown Boulder, CO are where some of America’s most famous rock climbing stories were written and legends were made. In the 1970’s Eldo Canyon, as it’s affectionately known amongst the climbing community, was where iconic rock climbers like Layton Kor, Huntley Ingalls, David Breashears, Jeff Achey, and the late great Derek Hersey (to name a few) could be found amongst the unique lichen covered red walls and their famed tilted geologic formations. Both awe-inspiring and humbling, the climbing in Eldorado Canyon is unique and like no where else. Today, thanks to many decades of route development from the local, strong Boulder / Denver climbing community, Eldo now sports over 500 routes of which to enjoy this beautiful and unique climbing treasure and state park, just mere minutes from the growing metropolis of Boulder, Colorado.

Eldorado Canyon’s walls, although compact in sheer size, offer an amazing amount of complexity and adventure generally found in much bigger and more remote climbing alpine rock climbing destinations. Because of this, it is an amazing place to work on both the fundamental skills of traditional climbing, like placing good and adequate protection; building solid gear anchors; managing complicated multi-pitch routes with tricky approaches and descents; and all the requisite rope work and rescue skills that are necessary to succeed both here and in some of the world’s greater traditional climbing venues. Besides offering guided ascents of such standard multi-pitch trad routes as: The Bastille Crack (5.8); Wind Ridge (5.6); Ruper (5.8+); Rewritten (5.7+); Yellow Spur (5.9+/.10-); and others, we also offer private and custom skills classes on anchor building, learning to lead and place solid protection, multi-pitch climbing strategies and tactics, rappelling and technical descents, and small team rescue skills courses.
